Save My Snaps

Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 July 2026

In short: Save My Snaps runs entirely on your device. It has no user accounts and no servers, it makes no network requests with your content, and it collects, transmits, and sells no personal data.

Who we are

Save My Snaps (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an independent personal utility that helps you rebuild the photos and videos from the data export you download from Snapchat. This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the Save My Snaps mobile application.

What the app does with your data

You choose a Snapchat data export (a folder or archive) that you already have on your device. The app reads the photos, videos, and overlay metadata (captions, stickers, drawings) from that export, composites the overlays back onto each photo and video, and writes the finished files where you ask — your Photos library, the system share sheet, or Files.

All of this processing happens locally, on your device. Your media and its metadata are never uploaded to us or to any third party.

Information we collect

None. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us. Specifically:

Data stored on your device

To let a long import or export resume after you leave and reopen the app, Save My Snaps saves a small amount of state on your device — such as your processing progress and your preferences (for example, output format and last-used destination). This information stays on your device, is not sent anywhere, and can be cleared by deleting the app.

Temporary working files created while compositing your media are written to the app’s private storage and are cleaned up as part of normal operation.

Permissions the app may request

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings. The app does not use these permissions for any purpose other than the ones described here.

Third-party services

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or backend services. When you export a memory to the system share sheet or save it to your Photos library, that content is handed to the operating system and any destination you pick (for example, another app or iCloud Photos syncing you have enabled); at that point it is governed by that service’s own terms and privacy policy, not ours.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised version at this URL.
