Getting started
- Request your data from Snapchat. In Snapchat (or at accounts.snapchat.com), go to “My Data”, request an export that includes your Memories, and download the archive when it’s ready.
- Open Save My Snaps and choose that export folder or archive when prompted.
- Review your memories, pick the ones you want, and let the app composite the overlays back on.
- Export to your Photos library, the share sheet, or Files.
Frequently asked questions
Does the app upload my photos anywhere?
No. All processing happens on your device. Nothing is sent to us or any third party. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need a Snapchat login?
No. The app never connects to Snapchat. It only reads the export archive you already downloaded.
A long import stopped when I switched apps. Did I lose progress?
No. Save My Snaps checkpoints your progress and resumes where it left off the next time you open it.
Some snaps look like they’re missing their captions or stickers.
Overlays depend on the metadata Snapchat includes in your export. If an overlay isn’t present in the export, it can’t be rebuilt. Make sure you requested an export that includes Memories and overlay data, and that the download completed fully.
Where do my finished files go?
Wherever you choose at export time — your Photos library, another app via the share sheet, or a location in Files. The app doesn’t keep its own copy after you export.
